The Yorkshire countryside is outstanding and when Keith and I have spare time we love to go on a good walk. Yorevision is a group of volunteers who cleared rights of way, built or repaired stiles and bridges to create some beautiful walks. One of our favourites is the Roecliffe Ramble. From the village of Roecliffe you cross a field then follow the river through a wood to Westwick Lock and on to Newby Hall. Here you look across the river to see colourful gardens of the hall. We usually retrace our steps to the lock and then take another footpath through fields and come out the other side of Roecliffe. On the walk there is plenty of wildlife and birds to see (we often see a heron) and depending on the time of year some lovely wild flowers.
